Parking Lot A7:

Please be advised that beginning Tuesday, October 19th, the parking lot just West of Malibu Hall will be closed for renovation.  As a reminder, overflow parking for staff and faculty can be found just West of Chaparral Hall.

Ironwood Hall Paving:

The Ironwood Hall, Central Plant, Maintenance Stores, Substation, and Cogen Plant areas will receive new asphalt.  Operations will include grading and installing new asphalt behind Ironwood Hall.  The Cogen Plant road and the Corporation Yard's existing paving will be pulverized and recycled prior to re-paving, to help preserve our resources.

Initial grading started Monday, November 1st, 2010.  The finish grading for the re-paving continues and the asphalt paving operation is scheduled for Monday, 11-8-2010.  Please expect increased truck traffic and noise from trucks during the paving operation.

North Hall:

This project included the demolition of portions of the existing structure, interior demolition and renovation of the remaining building, and new construction centered at the south end of the North Quad.  It will include one 120-seat lecture hall, seven lecture classrooms (totaling 315 stations), three computer labs, lecture/lab support spaces, faculty offices, administrative offices and ancillary support spaces.

Demolition of interior walls and existing window openings continues.  Excavation for the new three stop building has begun.  Click here for a revised pedestrian path of travel map to Nursing Simulation Lab.

Renovation and Repair Updates for the week of 10/18/2010

Campus Storm Drain Outfall Repair:

The storm drain outfall area has become overgrown and filled with debris, this repair will clear all shrubs and debris from the area, expose the outfall pipe and create a new rock outfall protection apron that will help out storm water flow without issue.

The area is now being cleared of vegetation and overgrowth; crews will expose the storm drain pipe this week and start reworking the outfall drainage area.

Bell Tower Restroom Repairs:

Bell Tower men's restroom 1421 and women's restroom 1425 are currently closed for repairs.  Alternate restrooms are available in the area and directional signage has been placed to identify the route to them.  OPC crews and contractors will be working on the repairs on and off hours and hope to have the restrooms reopened by 10/15/2010.

New Drywall, tile and paint has been installed on the plumbing walls and the plumbing fixtures have been replaced.  These restrooms repairs are now complete and open for use.

The access doors are being fabricated and will be installed soon, the lighting phase of the project has begun and new fixtures and maintenance outlets are being installed.
