CSU Channel Islands is pleased to offer a wide variety of scholarships through the Scholarship Office, academic departments and various organizations.  We are proud to honor the academic talents of our students and promote their future success.

The deadline for scholarships is February 11, 2011.  Scholarship decisions for aid year 2011-2012 will be made by April 2010. We encourage all students who are interested in applying for these scholarships to apply for the 2011-2012 Scholarships starting November 1, 2010.

Scholarship Program Application Procedures

A complete scholarship application includes an online application and two letters of recommendation.   Current high school seniors and new transfer students must submit their most recent grade transcript to the admission office.   Request your recommendation letters early to allow you to submit the two best letters to the Scholarship Office.  Only complete applications will be reviewed by the committee. CSU Edison Transfer Scholarship Program

The CSU/Edison Scholars Program has been established by a partner between five California State University campuses and Edison International. The purpose of this scholarship is to increase the number of low income and first generation transfer students earning degrees in technical fields. These funds will provide scholarships to community college students who transfer to one of five CSU institutions.

Students must have declared one of the following majors: mathematics, physics, chemistry, ecological biology, technology, or computer science/information systems. Students going into health professions/pre-medicine are not eligible. Click here to find out more about programs and eligibility requirements. (In progress to get a flyer linked)

If you have any questions regarding CSU Edison at CI scholarships, please contact (805) 437-8405.

CSU Systemwide Scholarships

The California State University Foundation works with donors interested in funding scholarship opportunities on a system wide basis. Currently, the CSU Foundation administers over $5 million in annual and endowed scholarships. Click here to find out more about programs and eligibility requirements.

Community Scholarships

There are many individuals and agencies in Ventura County that offer scholarships. Counselors at local high schools and community colleges are an excellent source of information and guidance regarding these scholarships. A major source of community support is the Ventura County Community Foundation.

If you have any questions regarding Community Foundation scholarships, please email vccf@vccf.org.

AB540 Scholarships (California Non–Resident Tuition Exempt)

Immigrant students in the U.S. who do not have a valid social security number do not qualify for any state or federal financial aid. AB540 does not provide financial aid to immigrant students, however, all are encouraged to apply for private scholarships to assist in funding the cost of your education.  Scholarships do not have to be repaid and are funded from a variety of community organizations, local and national foundations, private donors and state and federal government agencies.
